Any of you large angel keepers have any tips, tricks, or secret rituatals that can be done to get an angel to start eating?

Had a problem with a few angels not eating. They ate once and never ate again but the stomach was still a little bloated. I was told that it was cyanide poisoning that caused this and the angel ended up dying.

garlic extreem, live brine, live black mussels, norri, and flakes. Try all of them, but most important the garlic helps alot.

Mysis, different brands of flake food. Keep a vegi clip with seaweed and change it out daily. I had a Chrysurus that took 3 weeks to start eating once. If you have plenty of live rock they will eat on that untill they switch over. If there is aggression in the tank, this will keep them from eating. Good luck and keep us informed.

I had a rock beauty that took 3 weeks to eat. He was 24 hours away from death, I'm sure, and just started nibbling. Then became a chow hound for as long as I had him.

He is currently in a qt tank. It has been about 4 days. He is also being medicated because he got the ich, so unfortunately I can't put live rock in there. I will try the other food options and see what happens. Just started useing garlic extreme yesterday, so hopefully that will do the trick. Thanks for the input. I will just have to pray that he wasn't caught with cynide.

I saw this angel yesterday... WOW. I wondered if this was it. He said it was primarily a vegetarian?

Ahh yes! A beautiful fish!
I would put some cleaner shrimp in with that guy. He had a little bacterial thing going right around his mouth. Cleaner shrimp have worked best for me on that kind of stuff just keeping the tissue clean so it can heal up.
I don't have much experience with that genus except for singapore angels. With singapore angels we've had the best luck getting them to eat gel based foods such as special formula VHP. Maybe try some bloodworms also.
