I'm looking to get the pvc piping, valves, elbows, etc for plumbing a new tank. I have only looked at a Home Depot near my house. Their selection does not seem to me to be ideal. Like, say I'm looking for a threaded part, but they only have slip. Or I want a gate valve, but they only have ball valves.

Anyone know of a place in San Antonio that has the kind of selection(s) that aquarists need?

TIA.. Karl

What do you need?
I got a huge box filled with PVC parts from a project I was working on a loooong time ago. I'm never gonna need this stuff since I don't have a tank anymore. Depending on how much you need I could sell it to you for a few bucks or maybe even just give you the stuff you need for free.

I like Longhorn off of Nakoma and 281. They have just about anything you can want and the hard to find stuff like thin wall PVC.

Thanks, Cliff. Manny -- you are generous to consider giving the parts away. Sorry you don't have a tank, though. The parts are the kind you'd expect to need for drains and a looping return manifold: 1.5" on the drain side, 1" return (with 1/2" reducing tees for nozzles)... 45 degr elbows, unions for pump isolation, gate valve for pump cutout/output control ... all that kind of stuff.

Any other retail/warehouse/hardware store recommendations would be welcomed...TIA

Lowes has a fairly decent selection, but it seems there's always something they don't have that I need. There's an irrigation supply place up on wetmore in some business park. They have a great selection, but I'm sorry I can;t remember the name. I get really hard to find stuff at e-pipeconnection.com. PVC gate valves will be hard to find locally.

McCoys also has a real good selection of pvc and cpvc. they are on Nacogidotious [sp] just south of Thousand Oaks.
