I'm not sure what you mean by air driven. They're all air driven in one way or another. I used a sea clone for a while and I wouldn't recommend it. If you are looking for a HOB skimmer, take a look at a Prizm.

ok by what I mean by air driven is the ReadSea Venturi action 60 that uses a airpump to drive the water up. ill check the prices at the Prizzm i have a bud that doesnt uses one and maybe i caould save some cash

I kinda thought that was what you meant. Air driven pumps are really old technology. You rarely see one anymore. My first tank had one about 12 years ago. The ones all use some sort of water drive venturi.

Louie, I had a seaclone and I can say its not a very good skimmer. But wait, I did do a modification on it that made it work great. I added a wooden air stone and those little things are super efficient at creating microscopic bubbles. If you decide to get one try that out. I think a cpr would work better. OH and by the way, cpr also makes hang on back fuges. I will get with rick and maybe we can make one for your as one of our projects.

I had a CPR backpack and it worked great on a 45 gallon.

45 gallons is pushing the ability of the BacPac. In my opinion, 30/40 gallons is more suitible for it. I used one on my 45 sps prop tank and it did an ok job but there were no fish. On a 55, Id suggest either a Remora or a Remora pro with a Mag 5/7. You can get them from almost every on-line vendor. Dont waste money on something youll be upgrading soon. Buy smart, buy once.

Would a coralife super skimmer Needle wheel for 125g do well? is saw the remoras and they come with a Mag3 for $242.95.
