Ricordea group order

I wanted to check the level of interest on doing a group order of ricordea. I can order them from ricordeas.net but I have to order a minimum of 100. I am in for at least 10, but I need to see if there is enough interest to get the full 100. They sell them by the polyp, NOT BY THE NUMBER OF MOUTHS.

this is from their website

"minimum order 100 Polyps @ $10.00 a Polyp regardless of the number of mouths and colors!
When ricordeas arrive from the Ocean we separate each color and than we count and we divide them all in baskets of 100 Polyps equally divided based on the amount of each color received!
So, all of our customers will receive the same amount of each color always."

unless you would agree to pay my retail price of $50.00 each, what would

You would be better off buying 100 for $1199.00 and you will get at least

that's a very good question..... We can have each person request what colors they would like and then hope that the total comes out evenly distributed, this would be ideal, but may not come out that way. We could make it a first come first serve basis, but then I fear that some might be ****ed off if they do not get the exact colors they want. for instance, someone might want 15 polyps and want them all to be orange, but then the others would not get to get their fair share of orange. we could make each persons order be evenly distributed, like if someone wants 15 polyps for example, they get 5 orange, 5 blue, and 5 green.....

what are everyones thoughts on this. I dont want anyone to feel like they are getting screwed. How about everyone put your requested colors, and then we look at the distribution, and then we figure it out. Help me figure out what would be the most fair thing to do here. Also, how should we handle payment. I can cover the $1200, but I dont want to get stuck with a bunch of polyps if people back out. What are everyones thoughts on this......

I think we need to know just how many of each color will be coming. Then we find the ratio of colors and give everyone the same ratio based on how many they ordered.

We will probably get exactly 30, so roughly 1/3 will be orange
so maybe we could split it like that. Say I order 3, I get 2 blue/green and 1 orange. Brian is ordering 20, so he will get 6...

I could go for 4. We could put the colors on slips of paper. The draw a slip. This would give each one the same chance. Get payment upfront. I don't mind paying upfront. Randy this will keep you protected. I say lets go for it.

seems like everyone is thinking along the same lines. Thats good. So lets start adding up the numbers and see how many we can come up with. I have a friend that will probably take 20, and I myself am in for at least 10. I May be in for more if we need it to hit the 100 mark. lets see what we come up with and if everyone is in agreement. Sounds like we have a decent plan.

QUESTION for all...... How many of you would be interested in getting all oranges??? I may be able to get a deal on all oranges for $12.50 a polyp. This is only 50 cents more per polyp and we can get all oranges. Just thought I would throw this out and see what you all thought. I will keep checking this thread and we will see what everyone wants to do. To me, I really would like to have all oranges. We were originally going to get 100 polyps for $1199 shipped which is $12 a polyp, and this was going to be a mixture of colors. I have a feeling that everybody would prefer to get oranges for an extra 50 cents. Let me know your thoughts folks

For those that don't know, it has become increasingly harder to get orange ricordea due to various laws, especially in Haiti. These oranges will continue to become harder and harder to get. cpreefguy said it earlier, "nobody wants greens, a few want blues, but oranges is where its at..."

yes, each polyp is $12.50. This is actually very cheap. If you look at the LFS here in San Antonio, you will see they range from $30 to $50. I went to Texas Tropics and they had one and it was $50. I also recently bought one and it was $30 for a single polyp. The problem is that you can't even find the orange ones anymore....... I think they should arrive on thursday. I am going to probably take the day off from work to recieve them and acclimate them as soon as I get them.

They are here, and they are friggin SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!! I am "drip" acclimating them now so naturally they are a little ****ed off, but the colors are just awesome. I think we need to let them settle down a bit after the trip they made, then they should open fully. I would like to get these things gone soon, but I still want them to settle in a bit, so just pm me or post when you want to come get yours and we will work it out. I am thinking this evening would work nice......
