The main thing that causes algae are phosphates. Do you have fuge, how often do oyu do what changes, do you use phosphate binders, how much do you feed, what is you skimmer? All these are things that contribute to how much algae can grow.

Controlling nuisance algaes is simply a matter of removing more nutrients (primarily phosphate) then you put into the tank in the form of food. Food can contain up to 1% phosphate and a lot of it passes through to the water. Even if you are testing and get low levels for phosphate its still present in a form that your test kit cannot detect. The best test kit for phosphate is the simple presence of hair algae in the first place.

No I do not have a fuge. I change water every 2 or 3 weeks. No I do not use phospate binders I'm down to only feeding 1 time a day my skimmer is a REDSEA Berlin air lift. And a Tang i dont know if or how much it cleans but here it is.

Yes, post some pics. If it is hair algae then it is all about nutrients mainly phosphate but if it is byopsis you'll have a heck of a time getting rid of it by just trying to control nutrient levels. Bryopsis can be a problem even when nutrient levels are kept in check.
