How do I keep water out of the air tube? The stupid thing over flows and makes a nice little mess.
Problem 2 it overflows every time I turn it on.....

The air intake that attaches to the pump fills with water every time I turn it on, instead of putting air into the skimmer. The top chamber where the bubbles should collect fills with water and then over flows.

If this is a JEBO skimmer, and you want to keep it, put a 5 gallon bucket under it so every time is overflows, it does so in the bucket. If your experience is like mine, it will overflow every few days, and then you will throw it against the wall. Mine hit the wall after a 10 gallon mess. Seriously, these things have a fatal design flaw that lets them overflow. My opinion is that they are the biggest piece of junk on the market.

It sounds like either the air line has a valve on it that is closed, or the airline is down in the water. If the air line is down in the water its just going to suck water and not produce any foam.
Does the drain from the skimmer have some sort of valve on it that is causing the water level to get to high? By opening and closing this valve, you control the water level and how wet or dry a foam you are getting.
It just sounds like it needs to be tuned. Jebo in general does have some quality issues from what I have seen. They appeared on the market a few years ago with really inexpensive, Chinese made, low quality products that are "knock offs" of other well known brands.

Did any of that help? I didn't mean to tell you that your skimmer won't work. I'm sure it will. A skimmer isn't really all the complicated mechanically. It just may require some tweaking and tuning, a lot of them do.
You said the airl line runs from the pump? Is it a pin wheel pump?

There are still problems, it doesn't overflow onto the floor, but the only way to get air into the air intake is with an air pump

Is the air going to a vacuum eductor or straight to the pump head?

when I tried going into the powerhead, the water backed up the air intake

Here is some info I found online about this skimmer. They all talk about this unit having a break in period.
