All,

These are the best bulbs I've used so far but Coralvue is having some consistency issues. The bulbs are supposed to be a crisp white with a blue tint when burned in but many people running more than one are reporting different colors between bulbs and most notably, a gross pink hue. David from Coralvue is replacing the bulbs that are defective. Brian (greenmako) I might check into this as all the pictures I've seen of your tank give off a pink hue and it should be a plain crisp white. David's contact info is below:

His contact info as at coralvue.com.

Just a little FYI for all those not entirely pleased by their bulb.

Thanks John for the investigation into this matter. I was told that when next to a coral vue 10k they were suppost to be blue, and brighter. At polkster13's (coralreefbaazar) house, it was different. He had a reeflux 10k, next to a coral vue 10k, and the coral vue was bluer(?).

I am waiting to get 3 of the NEW reeflux 12k DE MH bulbs and am hopeing that they do not have issues like this as well.

They should be fixed but only time will tell. Again, if anything seems out of place, they will replace the bulbs so have no fear when ordering them.

Cb carries them apparently, Austin Aquariums does, and Polkster at Reef Bazaar does.

AquaDoc,

Actually, I had the bulbs switched. When I went to take them out, the one I thought was the ReefLux was actually the regular bulb and the one I thought was the regualer bulb was actually the ReefLux bulb. So the one that was much bluer was in fact the ReefLux. Sorry if this has caused anyone confusion about these bulbs. I am also a CoralVue dealer for the Austin and San Antonio area and if anyone is unhappy with their bulb, regardless of who they bought it from, I will take care of it for you. No need to send them back to David. I have only had one bulb that wasn't correct and it was a 12,000 K bulb that was misidentified as a 10,000 K bulb. If anyone wants to come out to my place to see a side-by-side comparasion of these bulbs with regular CoralVue HQI bulbs, I will be more than happy to accomidate you. And I will make sure I don't mix them up again in the presentation.

Just a side note, I have the SE and DE bulbs in stock for both ReefLux and the regular HQI bulbs. Let me know if you have any questions.

He doesn't make 400w DE reeflux yet. You'd have to go with the regular cv bulbs.
