Is there a formula for figuring out how much water evaporates daily? I know there are several factors that contribute to this such as size of tank and lighting etc, but is there a way to estimate this?

Length of tank multiplied by width of tank multiplied by height or the amount the water level dropped. It's the volume formula.

Oh yeah, divide that by 128 and the answer will be how many gallons evaporated.

The amount of water you have to add to bring it to the same level it was the day before?

Formula: 1 gal. added = 1 gal. evaporated

The reason, I asked the question is that the auto top off does this for me so I don't have exact figures. Jim Norris mentioned that his tank evaporated .5 gal per day so I was wondering how you could get an accurate number.

It varies day-by-day, depends on temp and humidity of the air in your house

I got my figure from what I added to the sump everyday to bring it up to a certain level.. I added fresh ro/di water manually. But know I top off with a kalkreactor setup. On my old tank I evap about 5 gallons of water aday.
