Put them together in a sump and they did ok with a barrier, let them touch after about ten minutes, again everything went great. I decided to put them in the tank an hour later. Watched and everything went great. She immedatly started hosting back in her anemone (she was in the sump for about four weeks) and going to get him and bring him back with her. I left for an hour and came back and he was hosting too! I hope I can add this picture..

I LOVE gold stripe maroon clowns!!! I have a pair in my tank and they look just like yours! Awesome looking fish with amazing colors. Mine stick real close to their anenome and only venture out if they are REALLY hungry lol

I don't know if you know this, but one of our member's breeds GSMs. If you ever have any questions, drop Instar a note. I plan on getting him to give a talk on clowns in general at a meeting later this year.

I thought I had read a forum where someone referred to a person who raised them but could never find the actual person or the persons name. Now I know.

I didnt get the first clown the lfs here ordered because it was the wrong 'color'. I didnt know they got that dark color with age and becoming a female. I had to wait quite a while until she was able to get another small one in. Worth the wait as this one has all its bars and is perfect :D

We now have a falce percula pair, a tomato pair and the gsm pair :D I love to watch them wiggling in their anemones. Can't wait until the clown topic.

Instar also breeds berghia nudibranches, and is starting a program to breed perculas and bicolor angels. I already have Instar (Larry) lined up to do a talk on butterflies, definitely one of the more challenging groups of fish in the hobby, for this summer. We'll try to get him back in the fall or winter to do a talk on clowns. He's previously done a talk on Aiptasia for MAAST.

What kind of anemone is best for hosting a GSM?

I have read its a bubble tip, but my female came with a sebae (it was pretty much white when I got it) and the sebae has been doing very well. It is now a dark brown with purple tips and grown lots. It is about 7 inches across right now when the halides are on and its extended. There was a green ricordia trio that were attached to the rock that are dieing now. They will not come off the rock and the anemone has grown to the point where it touches them. Any suggestions. I have tried ice, direct current on them, and then I tried to get the anemone to even move. No luck. [/quote]
