The effects of eating ichthyoallyeinotoxic fishes, such as certain mullet, goatfish, tangs, damsels and rabbitfish, are believed to be similar to LSD, and may include vivid and terrifying auditory and visual hallucinations. This has given rise to the collective common name for ichthyoallyeinotoxic fishes of "dream fish".

Too bad it's 'terrifying'.

I've seen restaurants in the Pacific where Tangs were on the menu.

I guess that say's something about the markup on fish if they are cheap enough to serve as an inexpensive meal on the local level. The local fisherman probably got paid $.50 (or less) for the fish you see in the LFS for $30.

I can see it now:

Guy in trenchcoat and sunglasses on a street corner: "PSST...Hey buddy, wanna buy a foxface lo?" (Kinda like the guy on Sesame Street selling "J"s.) :lol

That Family Guy episode is hilarious (they all are). My favorite though is the episode where Peter becomes president of a cigarette company.
The "subconscious message" in Lassie cracks me up everytime. "Smmmoookkke" Oh, and the bill on capitol hill being collected as trash!! :lol :lol :lol

No wonder the Desjardini and all the Red Sea tangs and stuff are so expensive, they are from the middle east and their not cut with anything. Purest tang you can get......

I have seen tang served in restaurants in the pacific. They didn't say which species it was though. I assumed it was one of the more common ones like Yellow tangs. Interesting.
