i've seen some realy nice black/white maximas.

never had a chance to get one myself. but i'm gonna ask around importers to see if they get them.

might have to give up my day job and become a clam pusher...

A $500 clam better be able to clean the inside of the glass if it wants to get into my tank. :w00t

I hope it goes for $1000

Then when something else cool gets posted for cheap........maybe the clam guy won't have cash left for it! :)

Wait 6 months to a year......Hoek, Acan, Soli, Efflos........

Are you a rare clam collector, Brian? If so, can you answer a question I have always had?....Do clams really have feet? (B.C. says they do, but you know how they lie!!!) :lol

actually I am lol
I have a black Crocea, and blue and black Tiger strip maxima (looks like the one on this page except it has blue strips instead of white) I also have a Golden Tiger stripe maxima, and a bright solid blue squamosa, the rest of my clams are regular :D and yes clams do have a foot it holds them down very tightly to what ever they attach too.

Ok so it is "foot" not "feet", got it. ;) Do you keep them in your reef tank or do you have a clam tank? Mine seem to have really made a calcium drain on my tank since I put the large one in.

Clams excrete "sessile threads" that they use to attach to the substrate. Sessile threads are composed of something similar to the cartilege that makes up your ears and nose.

Now wouldn't one figure that at least he would have free shipping as a bonus for that price?

Seems to me that offering free shipping would entice a few more folks on bidding. Most online stores offer free shipping after a certain price.

Though I still couldn't bring myself to paying over 5 bills for a clam and it has nothing to do with what my wife would do to me. ;)
