I got a 60 gallon cube on Saturday and its been alot of work resetting it back up. I lost a flame :( during the move and have had a heck of a time with the CPR Bakpak that came with it. I am pretty sure I would rather just go with a hang on the back overflow and a sump on the bottom with a better skimmer in it. At least, I think that would be better. I know nothing about this pak but that its not very easy to start with the canopy on and its not easy to get the canopy off if no one else is around.

It's up and running but I have another cube :D (she gave me the other one that had began to salt creep) that I am thinking we are going to reseal and see about drilling to make it easier but for now, suggestions on if I should just get another skimmer and overflow or try to use the bakpak.

Thanks, Jill

Exactly what problems are you having with the BakPak? I know them pretty well so I might be able to help out. First thing I would say though is that its too small for a 60 gallon, I used one on my 45 breeder and it worked great, Im now using it on my 20 tall and its still working fine. Theres a simple modification you can do to it to almost double the bubble quantity.

I am having a hard time getting the skimmer to work and in order to work on it, the overflow has to get stopped and then because of the canopy it becomes a real pain trying to get it to restart and then pulling the hose out. The person I bought it from has had it on the back for years and she liked it but.. she did have hair algae. So, with that said, it probably wasnt working the way that I am going to want it to work. We might just have to throw this on the back of our 18 gallon if it will fit. :D I keep finding small pak's but nothing that is like this. Its about 22" across and goes most of the way down the back, so about 20 inches down. I wanted to find out what it was rated for as I was thinking maybe this was ment for a little smaller tank but couldnt find info on one that looked like it.
