i got home last night to find my damsel floating on his side on the bottom of the tank. i know its just a damsel but still, it was my damsel. how aggressive do these blue yellow tailed damsels get? i still have that one who picked this other one to death and since he will be gettting bigger should i get him out of my tank now before its too late?

Yeah, it is a shame because they really are cool fish with nice colors, but you almost can't keep anything else with them. :(

According to the book I read on damsels it claims the yellow tails are the least aggressive of the lot but that being said it is still a damsel.

Mine continually bites my arm when I am in the tank.

I won't have one - my daughter's wanted one for her nano, and I won't let her. They are just plain MEAN.

I have 3 of them in one of my tanks and they have never bothered other fish or each other. They are in with 2 small perculas. They all get along great. I always found the bue/yellow damsels to be non-aggressive. Maybe we're talking about two different types of damsels.

im talking about the damsels that have blue bodies and yellow tails. right now i have a yellow tang, maroon clown fish and at one point 2 damsels. the only fish that my a hole dansel picked on was the other, smaller damsel. i would love to keep this last remaining damsel so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Build a nano and keep it in there by itself. I am sure that it might turn and start picking on other tank mates. I had one that was not aggressive at all like marlin. Then marlin and I might be the minority when it comes to damsels. HTH

i have two in my 120, they've been in there from the beginning. they don't cause much trouble, but i suspect they're the reason i've never been able to keep a school of chromis. they do bite when i get near they're barnacle that they lay eggs in regularly(free coral food!), and they have their own ideas about decorating near the barnacle too. if i set anything new nearby the male will move it away. i've seen him pick up some surprisingly big rocks, it took me awhile to figure out how this was happening. then i saw him in action, i'd been blaming the hermits.
