Does anyone keep their chiller in the garage? Any pros/cons other than probably having to work harder?

Why would it have to work harder? The chiller that is? Think about your AC unit, it is outside, does it work any harder? I am not trying to be a jerk, OK!! The only thing that would have to work harder is you and your pump. You, plumbing it in. The pump, you might have to upgrade because of longer plumbing runs.

My chiller stays in my garage since my tank is an in wall set up. So far ive never had any problems. They do suggest you keep the room temp below 95 I think. I just crack the garage open a little so it doesnt get so stuffy.

I also keep mine in the garage. No problems here.

I have mine mounted in the fish room with the backend sticking out the window like a window AC unit. I called the Mfg when I was installing and asked about an outside location. They indicated efficiency would go WAY down if ambient temp was above 95 or so. Difference between a chiller and an outside AC unit, is the exchange coils of your AC unit are inside the house where ambient temp is, well ... "room temp" ;)
