toys r us sand??

Was there today, and I noticed a pallet of sand.


It was in a 50# bag for $4.99

The label read "premium play sand"

I read the entire package and it not describe what kind of sand it was ( silica, aragonite)
But it did say it was " sanitized"

It was a light brown color...natural look

Hmmm...interesting huh. 50#'s for $4.99???

We wouldn't want the neighborhood cats using unsanitized sand out in the sand box, now would we?

If it was brown I would think it is probably silica sand. There is an easy way to find out. Just drop some in vinegar.

If the sand fizzes and dissolves in vinegar, its aragonite. If it just sits there, its silica.
