I picked up a decorator crab from the Jetty trip when Troy and I went. I put him in my sump, but haven't put him in the main display. I was wondering if he would be okay in my display tank. I thought he died, but I don't know why almost all my inverts molt a week or so after being in my tank. I really thought he was a gonner. So I chunked his shell with a few sponges and stuff on it. Now he's in my sump adding sand and cheato to his shell.

Yeah, he will hack up your zoos and palys for sure. They just molest about everything to see what they can stick on them. Then after a few days, they throw the stuff off their back and search for more...

I guess I'll leave him in the sump then to mow the grass every once in a while. He's got some seagrass that looks like a mohawk now!

Cute!!
But yeah, I gotta agree. Those little guys will rip up practically anything trying to decorate themselves. Definitely not reef safe.
