Hey All

I am looking for a solution to this question...

I need a return nozzle for a female x slip 1/2" ID pvc coupler.

Can you help me :( ?

Also, I am looking for plastic threaded rods and plastic nuts to "bolt" live rock into place. Anyone know where to buy these?

Not sure exactly what you're asking for...but if you need a 1/2" nozzle, locline makes those. If you have a 1/2" slip female PVC fitting, you need either: 1) a 1/2" female fitting adapter, which is basically 1/2" spigot X 1/2" female threads (this is very hard to find, try e-pipeconnection.com) or a short length of 1/2" PVC pipe plus a 1/2" female slip/thread adapter, which you can get at Lowes or HD. I have several of the hard to find female fitting adapters; I use them on calcium reactors. I can sell you one or two but that's it because I use them all the time.

For the rod, you might try mcmaster carr. They have lots of nylon bolts and nuts.

Thanks for the reply matt...

Ideally, I was looking to purchase these items locally. I am sorry if I came off a bit confusing with my post :lol !

Basically, I have a 1/2" inner diameter pvc pipe that needs a return nozzle. I am not sure how to connect a return nozzle to this. I am familar with Loc-line (I use it :) ) but my 1/2 slip piece (that is currently in use) does not fit into this opening. Remember that the Loc-line is 1/2" inner diameter not outer diameter. What ever I connect as a return nozzle will have to be " 1/2" outer diameter slip" connection.

It was mentioned that Regal Plastics carries plastic/nylon threaded rod. Can anyone verify this? Do they also carry appropriate plastic/nylon bolts?

I hope that I clarified myself a bit. Thanks for the help in advance!!!! :)

you can get nylon at HD as well in the slide out bins.

If you can't find the nylon bolts adn wingnuts etc. at HD or Lowes find a True Value. Last time I tried HD and Lowes they no longer carried them but True Value still did.

Just out of curiousity, were the rods the "cut to suit" type. I mean... lol, do they sell them in the 2' or 6' sections or are they the smaller rods or possibly just shorter bolts? I think that was a question :wacko ?

Anyone have any ideas about the return nozzle predicament? (Read Above ^).

I'm still not sure how to answer your question about the nozzles; what size PVC pipe do you have? It's either 1/2", 3/4" etc...anyhow, when you know that, just get a female coupler, slip/thread, and a loc-line nozzle to fit it. I must be missing something. Is there some reason you can't put a coupler on the pipe?

For the plastic rods, go to Big Lots or Dollar General and buy a 10 pack of coat hangers (I think their like $1). Just cut them to size and silicone them in.

Matt, I was measuring my piping and couplers with a 3/4" pipe instead of a 1/2" pipe. This is the reason I kept having a discrepency with what you were saying. I am pretty sure that I have a solution to my problem now! Thanks for your help and sorry for the misunderstanding. :)
