I have been looking online for some ideas on how to soundproof my setup and I read that soundboard is a good way to go for the stand. The problem is that everywhere I see that Home Depot and Lowes are supposed to carry it, but they don't. When I ask for soundboard they don't know what i'm talking about. One person said they could order it for $35 but I read it was available for about $8. Does anyone know where I could get some. So far I used mdf board on the back and inside of the stand and it worked o.k. One guy at Lowes pointed me to a board that he said was the same thing but it was covered in black stuff that felt sticky.

You could also use studio foam. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/rec/navigation?N=100001+305220

If you want to go cheap, egg cartons work good too. That's what they used to use in studios.

you could go to a car audio place and get dynamat. It's like a foam that you just glue on.

I would not use anything that was "paper" related. Remember that the stand will have water splashing and high humidity. Felt paper used for roofing or something like dynamat would work better, since it is somewhat water proof.

i wouldn't use felt paper, that stuff is pretty nasty. and i would be surprised if it made much of a difference with the noise.
