I finally bought a dig. temp gauge today. Hooked it up and found out the tank was 3 degrees higher than I thought. It seems to be running 84.5 during the day with 460 watts of pc going. Waiting to see what it drops to tonight. softie tank with no visable problems. Is this temp to high?

I would say that is a bit on the high side, about 82 is as far as I would want to go. Biger problem is temp range, if it is dropping 4-6 deg at night, that could be bad.

I think the problem might be my heater. I just unpluged it. It was on and the tank was reading 83.2. I have it set for 78. We will see.

I'm running my cooling fans 4X (400 cfm & 24 hr.) as much as is "normal" because the windows are open and the humidity is high. Even with that, I turned off my MH yesterday afternoon. This is the worst weather we have had this year for cooling. The humidity has been 90% at night. Even if I had the AC on, its not hot enough to run long enough to really drop the humidity alot. Besides, I have a big yard project going on this weekend and I am in and out the door all day. I don't really want to be going from cool inside to warm outside.

I gues it was the heater going bad. My tank reads 80.5 today. I will see what it reads tonight.
Thanks for the replys
