I know this is probably not possible, but my Foxface Lo has what looks to be a couple of spots that look like diatoms. She is eating with gusto, and in fact looks fat to me. The spots are on one side, bronze-ish, and look like light dusting. Is this something I should worry about? She is otherwise fine (so it seems). :unsure

Actually, if you have a diatom bloom in your tank, it is possible. Although a single cell algae is not going to "grow" on a living portion of slime coat, it can stick to the slime coating while the fish is locked up in the rocks at night if it's right side was up against the rock or glass that had diatoms or other slime algae on it. In that case it will probably be gone by noon and only return if the fish gets against the same place before snails and/or micro hermits clean off. However, sometimes mites (and some other things) can attack and look dark on a yellow fish, so keep a close watch on it. It would be a good idea to have someone check it out that knows fish diseases and parasites if you have such a friend close by?
