This year is going to be the 2nd Annual Bigbird Trip to Port A, and we would like to have official t-shirts for the event. We need to have a few submissions from our MARSHian community which will need to have the following requirements and it should contain these items:
1) bigbird, like the one from Seseme Street
2) collecting
3) Port Aransas
4) BBQ
5) MARSH logo
6) MAAST logo
7) The Title should say: "2ND ANNUAL BIGBIRD COLLECTION TRIP AND BBQ"
8) the date "July 15th-16th, 2006"
The winner will get a collection bucket and gear, in addition to a free t-shirt. This is open to all, including MAASTards. Each club will have their top 2-3 selected, from which both clubs will vote on the best. This design will go on the front of the shirt, with the vendors who are sponsoring this trip on the back. This is going to be a great trip and lets have the cool t-shirts to show it!!
Please send your submission to bigbirdcontest@marshreef.com . The contest ends April 30th. Voting will last for a few days following in both club's website. So let's get to designing!!

Hey Everyone,
I know there are a lot of "creative" people out there, so let's get this thing started. This should be a super event. I would like to let everyone know that there will also be a raffle at the BBQ that will be open to all that attend. Stay tuned to updates of raffle items. At this time there will be a "Deluxe Top-Off unit" from www.top-off.com.
Thanks.

It sounds like its going to be a collecting extravaganza of truly Texas proportions. I mentioned it to the new club forming up in NE TX too.

this maybe a silly question but what exactly are you collecting. Go easy, I'm clueless to what this event involves.

Hi, I'm from out of the area, could you go into more detail about what is collectable along the coast line? My brother lives on N Padre island and is wondering what he could find for me.
thanks

We need to get together a head count of all the people going so that we can make the meal arrangements. There will be BBQ brisket, turkey, sausage, beans, cole slaw and fixin's. There will also be a raffle for all that participate which include a top-off unit donated by www.top-off.com, $50 gift cert from www.oceanhomesetc.com and a Antony Calfo book donated by www.coralreefbazaar.com . This should be a great event and ALL are welcome. Please get yourself counted so we can have enough food for everyone.

4 peeps here, 1 adult 2 kids, and 1 kid stuck in a mans body. What type of water should we expect? Depth, temp., and clearity? Gonna decide if I should bring the scuba gear down or not.

2 people going here.... I'm considering bringing my scuba gear. Since I am newly certified I'd like to get a little "bubble time" and add another entry to my log book! :)
I'm taking my father to Port A next weekend for a Fathers Day fishing trip. I'll be scouting for good collection spots.

Anyone else into scuba, or interested in finding out about it, PM me. I have been certified for 15 years, and have my commercial certification. Call this my chance to promote scuba as a sport. If people are interested I might just bring a few spare tanks so that people might try it out. Let me know.
