So I put my royal gramma in the tank last night and he was staying near the top of the tank. I was worried he was going to end up in the overflow and sure enough, I woke up this morning and he was stuck to the drain of the overflow box. Well I thought for sure she was dead, but turns out she was alive. Anyone ever have this happen to their fish before? Did they make it thru okay?

MANY times. i have fished a flame hawk out of the sump 3 times now. i did have a really cool spotted mandarin go over that didn't make it tho.

Many fish have died in my overflow box, even a shrimp! You must come up wish some sort of device so that they can't get in there.

Yeah, it had some plastic grate that he got thru somehow. Guess I need to reinforce it with something else.

I used some eggcrate in front of the slots so it makes it harder for a fish to get sucked thru but not impossible.

I tried a bunch of different things but they either got clogged to easy or kept it from surface skimming.

If you come up with that product a bunch of people will buy including me.

Look out, he was probably trying to lodge a stone in a wheel of your filter so the tank would get all scummy and you would have to take all the fish out to clean it and they could make their way to the ocean by rolling the bags you put them in out the window! :lol

Stupid royal gramma is ruining my life. I noticed white spots on him this morning. Looks like the stress of spending the night in the overflow left him up to ich. I had to dismantle my entire tank practically to get him out and put him back in QT. Grr...
