It was resolved. This happens with all websites. We thank you for your paitence. Has anyone thought of the fact that MAAST being partially down is possibly the biggest crisis in your life in the last 24 hours. What does that say about us?

It says I have an addiction.
It is still acting up. I cant go directly to the forums. It sends me to general reefkeeping first.

if your still having problems I might reccomend clearing your cookies and cache.
I didn't have to, and the site seems to be stable, and remakably faster as well.
As a technical person though, I am interested to know specifically what caused the problem.

We are having some problems. Chris was able to work on it this morning, but could not resolve all of the problems. He has pointed the "Online Forums" link to the General Reefkeeping forum, from there you need to use the "Jump To:" navigation dropdown at the bottom of the page to access other forums.
Sorry for the inconvenience, hope this will be resolved withing the next few days or so.
Your patience is greatly appreciated!

"Steve Rogers, Chris, and Joshua are the admins. A lot of the software on this site was written by Chris and sometimes it takes his time to figure out what the issue is."
-GaryP
This is my point. Other people besides Chris need to know how to opperate the software. You can say that Joshua and Steve are admins til' your blue in the face, the fact is Chris is almost always (when something goes wrong) the ONLY one who knows how to fix it.
Patience is a virtue and personally its not a big deal that it has been down, b/c you can still navigate the site with some extra effort. There is a larger issue here. An issue that has been brought up before...numerous times before. Site maintenance is becoming too much for one man. The BOD has expressed an interest to take MAAST to the 'next level' ... I dont think asking for a generic "scheduled site maintenance" or "we are working on it" post is asking too much, its common professionalism. But oh wait the BOD's were kicked out of their forum and weren't allowed to post either...which could also be resolved if a BOD knew the software.
BTW- what if something ever happened to Chris? What would MAAST do? Personally I know this has been an issue for sometime but its becoming an issue of we need to do what is best for MAAST.
The comment was made that Chris had time to work on the prob this morning (obviously he has other commitments) but if others knew the software it could be fixed as soon as possible, not when 1 PERSON has the time to do it...MAAST is bigger and better than that, it has grown sooo much! I realize Chris is basically the father of MAAST and still think he should be the 'go to guy' but also think he needs help...

Christina, got to agree with everything said above! Plans were that Chris' time would be limited and so I learned enough to handle everyday admin stuff (users, postings, access, etc.) and we lined up Joshua as a backup too. Unfortunately Chris's time has been impacted due to some internet probs and a recent illness - didn't plan for that!
We need to at least get enough of Chris's time very soon to address immediate probs and then identify skills needed in an alternate and some time to train on the code.
Definately an item we need to work on ASAP, thanks for your words of "encouragement" ;)
BTW - How good are you with PHP code :P

Looks like our fairy dust levels are down again, testing indicates 4.5 ppm, and we need at least 6.0 ppm for proper calcification of the site!
Calls are out to Chris & Joshua - your patience is appreciated!
