OK so I have been culturing my own phyto. for about a month and finally is dark green, so is ready to be put in my tanks, so I dosed both tanks in the AM, and went to do my daily deal, I come back home, and BAM!! everything looks like I just injected steroids on them, the brain is the size of a soccerball, the toad stool is crazy big, :D , everything looks like it got super big in a few hours, so from now on is live phyto for me :D I mean the tanks :P

Jose

BTW, I know people are going to ask, sure, I can show you how to do your own culture, and I'll give you a started amount, is amazing you really dont need alot.

Jose,

Some phyto contains some excellent anti-oxidants. Maybe you need to consider a little for yourself as well. :)

JimD pics LOL, maybe you haven't heard, I suck at taking pics LOL

Anyway, is simple I use 2 10ga tanks, put the starer culture from florida farm 2 per tank, put a light strip(10000k), add a little liquid plant food(about 15cc, or 3 tsp) light on for 16hrs off for 8hrs, stir around the water everyday, so cells don't settle and about a month later.... live phyto.

is suggested to empty half and refill with new water for the next bacht, but I am taking out 2 cups of water from my tanks and swapping them with 2 cups from the phyto tank, that way is always fresh and live.

I got the idea from melev's reef, he has it in his web site, for more detail explanation and pics, don't forget I suck at takin pics LOL

Hmm, if you got a bigger tank for your phyto you could put a hose with a good needle valve (use hose clamps to make sure the hose stays on there) and slowly drip to your main tank I bet you could keep some of the really tough to keep corals.
