Reef Crystals

I've started using reef crystals a few days ago and it seems my alkalinity went way down! To about 1.59meq/L!!!! It was at about 3.5meq/L before I did about a 20gal water change with reef crystals on my 60 gal system. Calcium is at 450ppm right now as well. pH also went up from about 8.3 to 8.5. Specific gravity at 1.026, temp at 25.1 celsius. What the heck?

What were your params before and what kind of salt were you using? Are you having problems that made you want to switch? If not, why the change? Ive been using Reef Crystals forever and my params are always in check. I drip kalk and dose B-ionic also because of such a heavy demand. Usualy its 8-9 Dkh and around 480 Ca.

That's right around where rc usually is. Mix a little up and test it.



Calcium is at 450ppm right now as well.


Are you dosing something for calcium?
