How do y'all have them attached in your tank? My 125 lip is to big to use the edge clip and the last time I used the suction cups they came off and trashed my tank while I wasn't home. Right now I have them tie-wrapped to my center return tube but would prefer to have them on the ends of my tank not the center.

can you rig a piece of acrylic as an extension to the lip clip so that they will hang that way? There was a thread on RC about a DIY magnet clip that was used for seios so I know it will hold the MJ. I will go see if I can find it. Give me a few.

I heated the clip up with a cig lighter and just bent the plastic to the shape of the lip of my tank.

I can get the clip over the lip but the problem is one edge sticks up instead of being flat causing my hood to not fit right.
I have several of the edge clips I will try to re-shape one to work.

Pure gold!!
I can't believe I never thought to heat and bend but in less than 5min I did one, 3 more to go and I am home free (pun intended).
Thanks

I just spread the clip open with my fingers and snap it over the lip. It fits over my oversized 125 tank lip just fine. That clip will bend and spread open just like a spring without breaking and snap on, locking it into place. All of mine are hung by the clips with one suction cup to ease vibrations. I've never broken one yet.

Maybe try something like this to build your own brackets to fit:
http://shapelock.com/
You can get 'free' samples for the price of shipping.
Somebody online is selling top-offs using this for the brackets, but I don't remember who now.
