I've had this fish for 3 years or so. See the white patches? This JUST showed up tonight. Any ideas? Fish is eating just fine, and as obnoxious as usual.

Thanks!

This fish is the biggest pig. Gets seaweed nearly every day, and then eats anything thrown in the tank. There doesn't seem to be any disposition change - still splashes water to be fed, etc. This fish is getting way too big for the tank - but the 215 is in the works. Is this possibly from an encounter with one of my anemones or other corals in the tank?

BTW, it's only on one side.

I'm not positive on this one myself but think it maybe the Michael Jackson disease. Does this fish happen to want to hang around with a lot of your younger juvenile fish lately. He does seem to be eyeing that little chromis pretty good in the picture. :lol

Actually try to PM Richard, he may have a good answer or have some helpful advice for you.

Lookin' MUCH better this morning - almost gone! And, already begging for food. The lady who works for me can't even tell a difference.

C'mon now I need an answer (glad your fish is well), mine has the exact same thing. Going on 2 weeks now and it acts/eats 100% normal, I figured it is because it is getting bigger and wedging itself in places at night it is getting scratched up.
Anyone?

I'm pretty sure she/he brushed up against something - my tank is WAY overloaded right now, as I'm working on getting the 215 up and going, and bought some stuff from mikeyboy. In any case, it's now 2 days later, and all is fine.

Uhh..I don't know what that is. Looks like maybe a white patch or sometin.

But, using my vast experience and knowledge I am sure it will be gone in two days. :lol

Oh I didn't see this. Guess you want a serious answer. I never worry about discolorations like these on regal tangs as long as they are acting normal and eating well since, as you said, they like to wedge themselves into rocks at night. In addition to minor scratches/scrapes if you have aiptasia or other pest anemones they can get minor stings that will cause discoloration also.

Sorry about the delayed Thank You but for some reason I didn't get a "someone has posted e-mail" Thanks.
That is what I figured she (don't know but we call it a she) wedges herself everywhere all the time in our big cap and between rocks. Like I said been around two weeks (rough guess) and she acts perfectly normal.
Thanks again.

BTW aptasia free, only anemone is a BTA.
