locked posts/due to a link with redneckreefer

if we are going to lock and delete all posts that asssociatede with redneckreefer shouldnt we also lock and remove all posts that refer to any other site like the ones about grimreeefers in the past and the ones daily about reefcentrall, none of those places support us or give us anytype of money. I just dont want to start discriminating of something just becasuesomeone might not like that place.

Gator, the moderating was due to the content on the other site, not just due to the reference of another reef site. Two main problems: 1) The content is considered very offensive in contrast to MAAST's content, and 2) While other sites are not "supportive" of MAAST (Not sponsors, etc.), the RnR site openly discredits MAAST and it's members.

We wish RnR success in their new site. It offers an alternative for folks in this hobby that enjoy the type of content they support, but it is very contrary to our goals.

Aww.. c'mon dude.. even I know better than that.. and I DO post on RR.. They Don't Allow Links To Said Site, Yet Do For Various Other Sites.. Because.. At The Other Sites.. Does This Forum In General Get Frequently Attacked And Slandered? Do Members Of This Forum Get Personally Attacked At Those Other Sites? This is just turning nasty.. and there isn't a good way to handle it unless everyone just mellows out a bit.. on BOTH sides..

I haven't seen any attacks on RnR (or even heard of them). If somebody attacks us on their site and we don't attack them on ours that speaks volumes to me on character for both sides.

Either way I don't want to see any bashing on this site so locking of said posts seems a good way to go.

Exactly, everyone just needs to mellow out, especially the conspiracy theory people. I think everyone needs to take a break from staring at their computer screens and go sit for a few hours in front of their tanks. Take a break from all the whining, finger pointing, name calling, slandering, over reacting, and childish bickering. Enjoy what got us all into this hobby in the first place, the beauty of saltwater tanks and what used to be the incredibly friendly people.

i did not read what was writen so i apoligize for that. i did not know that something derogatory was posted. I am not trying to start arguments i just want to make sure that we (maast) does not start to discriminate just becasue we dont like the other site. thanks for the reply and i think it helps me to undertand why maast did what they did.
