But how do I transport Live Rock from an LFS? I'm going to be getting some live rock and I have found lots of information but that one question still eludes me.
If I get "fully cured" LR should I bring a tub full of salt water so that I can put it in that on the way home?
If I'm getting uncured live rock I've heard they wrap it in wet newspaper...should I bring a tub (so to prevent it from getting my car all wet??)
How does buying LR work.
/I'm such a n00b.
//But hey I asked :-P

you could bring a tub of SW, but its not nessary unless you live a couple hours away. Most lfs's will have newspaper and boxes to put it in, and that is really all thats nessary for a short drive.

I don't feel ashamed...maybe a little silly but not ashamed. I've been reading about SW tanks for 8 months now and I finally got the tank up and plumbed and running with sand and water and have been reading about live rock for about a week and I think i'm pretty confident about live rock now but it was the most basic question that nobody ever explained :-P
Thanks for all your help and encouragement!
I'm off to find some live rock :-D

If that is the most "noobish" question you are going to ask then you are way ahead of the game.

w00t. I've been dying to have a reef tank for about 6 months and I've been patient and read a lot. It's about dang time that I get to put something in the tank :-D

I'm willing to wait though...You see all that beauty and you want one instantly, but what a lot of people don't realize is that people spend their lives and a lot of their $$ making it look awesome. My parents learned me well and I *know* patience pays off big. :-D
I look forward to seeing your tank in May then :)

I'm now a little less of a n00b!! :P I'll be going back to fin-addict tonight because they are getting some more live rock in. It might need to be cured a little though so it probably won't go in the tank just yet.
Here's with the rock I bought last night. 7 mollies in there currently.
