I have had 2 ocellaris clowns for about 3 months now and i just got a green bubble tip anemone 3 nights ago, i placed it close to where the clowns hang out hoping they would host it quickly, but i was wrong. I know they see it cuz they excite me and get like one inch away, but they still havent hosted it yet. Is there a chance they will host it and it just takes time or does anybody have ocellaris that have hosted a bubble tip. I really would appreciate some advise on how to help them host it because that is what i was going for in the first place. I have fed the anemone 3 times already because the clowns wont host.

Most oscellaris are tank raised and it just takes them a while to figure out what to do with that thing with all the tentacles. It may take months, just be paitent.

mine took about a month. now, they hardly stray beyond a foot away, and "protect" the amenone vigorously when i try to feed it!

Well, bta's are not their natural host. Sometimes they will adopt them as a host and sometimes not. I don't think there is anything you can do to make them host in it. Just wait and see what they do. We have two true percs at the store and they have never shown any interest in the rose bta in the tank. One of them hosts in a crocea clam and the other in some zoanthids next to the clam.

I have a true perc at home that tried to host my clam and then decided to go into my torch, which turned out to be a bad idea. The torch began to sting the perc to the point where he began to show marks that resembled bruises on his gills. I purchased a green bta and the perc decided to use it as a host about a week after I purchased it so just be patient.

I recently added a LTA and it took about a month for my clown to host into it.

Just let them talk to my clowns, then they will host in any coral or your tunze. My fish are retarded though, I also have an algae blenny that eats mysis and flake food and a sailfin tang that eats shrimp, mysis, and its own poop and will not touch algae of any kind. :(
