I looked into these guys at one time. I'm not sure anyone has had much luck keeping them alive in captivity. They fall into the same category as carnation corals. They may be possible, but you would have to have a system set up specifically to keep them alive. That's the problem with a lot of these filter feeders.

I have placed pictures of the feather star I had on this forum before. The one I had, was a brilliant red color and was very entertaining to watch in the tank. It had about 40 arms and when it wanted to move, all moved rapidly extending and closing making a up and down motion which in turn moved it quite quickly all over the tank. I had it for 3 months and traded it for some corals I wanted. It is still doing well in Ralphs tank but you really need to spot feed it or put alot of food in the water which isn't good for the tank. Since it has its mouth on top, the arms roll inward when it feeds and I never had problems with it opening during the day, a little cyclop-eeze in the water and it was all over the place feeding. I did have a banded shrimp that didn't get along with it but like I said, it was fun to watch while I had it. Good luck if you do get one. I've attached a picture of the one I had.
