I had one with great success for a time until lionfish incident. No more lionfish and am really wanting to try another but LFS isnt getting them anymore so looking to order online (I live in west, Tx and only one lfs here) but not sure the best place to order one from? I dont suppose one of the lfs around SA area that everyone praises so well would consider shipping one? Anyone have ideas?

Definitely CB Pets is the place to go for one. They are dipped, treated, quarantined, and they make sure they are eating before being sold. I do have one that I got from Fina Addict as well that I made sure was eating before I took it home.
I wouldn't suggest buying one online unless you are set up and willing to deal with treating it for the parasites they always seem to come with. They also seem to get a viral disease that looks like a big wart when they are shipped. It goes away eventually but they need to be fed well and get some TLC.

I would NEVER order one of these "on line". Hell, I can't get the locally babied ones to live! Although many MAASTards have. :(

Yea, I was going to say that this is not a fish that I would ever recommend from an online dealer. Its a tough one. I would just wait until you are near a good LFS that carries them, or have your local LFS order one for you, but don't pick it up until you are sure its feeding. Even if its feeding at the LFS is no guarantee it will feed in your own tank when confronted with more aggressive tank mates.
They seem to do better at picking at food rather then taking food from the open water. They also are more aggressive feeders before and after lights are on. For that reason, I feed mine live black mussels early in the AM and late at night. Mussels might be hard for you to obtain in Andrews. Another strategy I have seen is to smash blood worms into a dead open brain (or similar) skeleton and let them pick at those.
I have one that feeds readily on forzen food such as mysids and brine, but it came from someone else's tank and was already trained to do so. The other one is just starting to feed on frozen but seems to prefer mussels. I've had it for a year. Make no doubt about it, this is not an easy fish to deal with, but can be a great fish in most tanks. I sure don't have any problems with Aiptasia.

I actually had great luck with my last and only CBB for a few months. I was able to get live mussels from HEB in Midland and he did great. I fed him mysis as well from a turkey baster but my lion fish rushed up to eat as well sticking the CBB with its dorsal spines. It didnt take long for my CBB to die from that and it really really sucked. My lfs hasnt been able to get me one in awhile and also they are 30 minutes away and close at 7pm where I seldom get home from work before midnight lately it seems. Must be nice to live in civilization and have more than one LFS in your area! :P

I'm sure that if you give one of our LFS a credit card number over the phone or send some cash that they would hold one for you. That way you wouldn't have to waste a trip to SA.

Careful Ross. We want to help everyone, but if you WORK at FA you're crossing the line a bit here.
FYI.

How do we really know ;) jk
Probably best to take those offers to PMs. I think all Todd was saying is that these have been taken out of context before and others saw them as "peddling wares" in general forums - Thx!

Yepper.
I know you were just trying to help. But, when you work for a LFS and a Sponsor, the "rules" change a few things.
