i noticed a small white spot on the bottom of one of my sps frags where it had encrusted on a rock tonight. all the lights are out already (except the moonlights), so i had to get a flashlight to take a closer look. when i shined the light there, a little wormlike thing darted into the rocks. i did a little research online, but only found some info on a specific type of bristle worm, the fireworm. i dont think this is a fire worm, because it didn't have any bristles. it was red with black stripes across its body and even tho it was really fast, it looked like a long flat roley poley bug, but red and black.

any ideas?

it ate a 1/4 " semicircle in the base of this sps frag since the lights went off at 10:00. :angry

You got me on this one.

Are you sure it wasn't just scavenging dead polyps?

i dont think so, it left what looks like a hole in the base, like it even ate some of the skeleton!

I tried doing a search for SPS predators and didn't home up with anything that was helpful. Try dropping Instar a note. If anyone might know what it is, he will. Richard might also be some help.
