LOL...We have a rule that everything must be offered for sale at least a day before we can go cherry picking. So I have to wait till saturday to take anything. Plus you already snagged the one I was REALLY eyeballing when I unbagged it :angry.
So for anyone who comes out before I can go shopping....the cap is very evil! It has redbugs and flatworms and ich. Don't buy it!
Thanks for coming out !!!

Is it me or do they all look similar in color? What lighting are those under? That one 'could' be A. Sarmentosa, it certainly has the correct form, Id like to see it under some 10k's. The last one is questionable, it really doesnt have the coralite structure to be a Hoek, looks more like some sort of tort. Again, its hard to tell with all the blue. A close-up would be cool too.

well, mark and my wife said the last one was probably a tort, someone else i know (who knows more than me) said it might be a hoeksi - hense the ???? because i dont know for sure. the one that grows like a sarmentosa (not sure about it either - my wife thought it looked a little like a tenuis) is green and the very end of the coralites are maroonish red. i do have lots of actinic, and am running 14k MH, but the camera just isn't getting the color right. i am still playing with settings to try to get better pics. as far as them being similar in color, what can i say, im a sucker for teal, green and blue.

well, i have one sameonsis from you and another one today, and they are more pointed than that one, so i thought it looked more like a humulus.

I think the frag is a sarmentosa. It's a frag from my tank ;) . I'll try to get a pic of the mother colony.
I thought the second one was a tort but then again I'm not very good at acro id. Mark just got the 3 volumes of "Corals of the World" books, maybe he can find it in there. It looked like a really good book for id'ing acros/sps. It looked like it had pics of all the acro species and a drawing of what the corallites looked like for each one also. It's expensive though.

I like the samoensis, nice little colony. The others are nice too. This last one does look like a tort to me.

Trying to find other tort like acros in my new book And.....
Well figures, right after I get these new books I find this place
http://whelk.aims.gov.au/coralsearch/coralsearch.php
Looks like a mini version of the books.
But, then again I am a book nut so I still like the books. :D
I do like the online version too.....
Search engine seems a little strange though? :unsure
