my clown fish is acting A LOT different. hes becoming very territorial and aggrssive. he use to be laid back and never really messed with anyone. you guys said a while back that this might be puberty, but is it possible this could be somthing different?

what kind of clown is it? how large? it may be going through a gender change, or have completed a gender change to female.

It's my understanding that Maroon Clownfish are naturally aggressive.

Maroon clown fish are by far the most agressive, mine would attack my hand if I got near the anemone.

I had a huge maroon that was always real nice in my tank.......a while went by and you couldn't get near him. They change like people do! :-)

Stick you fingers near him and see if he bites you. Also look to see if he is foaming at the mouth. If so he may have a mild case of rabies :lol

maroon clowns are easy to identify. does he have a cheek spine? if so, maroon clown, if not, he's another species.

maroon clowns are sweet as any other fish, when they start maturing into a female, the CAN (but not always do) get mean as hell. I have a female that is sweet as can be right now, but I still don't trust her.
