HELP WITH EHEIM FILTER

my filter hasnt beem working for a while. i just looked inside and theres know water inside and its not spitting out water into the tank. does anyone in here have any expierence with Ehiem filters. i cant seem to get it to work.

Have you taken it out and cleaned the impeller yet? Alot of hob filter arent self priming so try pouring water into to see if that gets it running. Can you hear it making any noise?

i got it working. all i had to do is give that little impeller a push. its working fine now. my tank is a mess though. there is crap floating everywhere. hopefuly that filter is strong enough to pick all that up again. thanks akm.

Take the pump apart and soak it in vinegar. They have a tendency to scle up. I have all of my pumps on a regular cleaning schedule for that reason. After it has soaked for about an hour, just use a tooth brush to clean up the left over junk on the parts and in the impellor cavity. You may also have to take the impellor off of the shaft and soak it. A little bit of "stuff" in there can cause it to bind up. You can also get replacement impellors for it as well.
