looking for opinions on flow for a 58gallon bb tank closed loop.the only other flow would be from the return mag 12.i was thinking of using a sequence reefflo dart pump.its rated at 2820 @ 4 feet of head pressure.i would be using a it with an om super squirt with 4 to 8 outlets.
too much?
not enough?
just right?

i thought the head pressure was the difference between the inlet and the outlet for the pump plus some formula for bends in plumbing and such, not how far below the water level the pump would be. you may not have a 4 ft head pressure, which would give even more flow. i think as long as you spread it out and make sure you dont get sand storms (if it isnt BB), it would be great.

Sounds like it will work. Have you considered the Tunze Stream powerheads? They work great and use a fraction of the power.

+1 for Tunze stream pumps. Alot less complicated than closed loop

Another for the Tunze. What are the demensions of the tank, that makes more difference than the gallons. Also as far a as a closed loop goes you won't have any head pressure other than the couple of inches if you are returning water over the water line. What you will lose is some pressure from any bends in lines etc.

I say go for it, would create some awesome flow. Sounds like the right pump. I would have at least 1 outlet perferbly two blowing at the bottom underneath your rocks. Then 1 on each end of the tank facing each other.

i havent considered the tunze, but wouldnt that be like one sided? i think the om unit would make the flow more random.imo.the reason i will be using a closed loop is cuz i already have the om unit.plus ive done closeded loops a couple times im getting pretty good at it.thanks for the feedback.
