HI all! I want two different kinds of shrimp. I was told that I could have a Red Fire Shrimp and a Skunk Cleaner. Is this ok?

I was about to order then when I read that the Fire Shrimp is intolerant to other shrimps. What are your opinons and experiances??

If I want my shrimp out in the open more should I just go with 2 Skunk shrimp? I like the fire one but I want to be able to see it, some say these hide??

So I was thinking maybe 1 Skunk and 2 Sexy or 2 of each or will they be ok with 1 each???

Here is what I have:
29 gal
9 hermits
5 Turbo
10 n. snails
2 clowns ( hybrid ocellaris and black onyx perculas)

I am also looking at adding maybe a Tail Spot Blenny

Any Suggestions on shrimp and the Blenny?? :P

How big is your tank???

I have 2 Fire that hide all the time but I can still see them. 5 cleaners that run all over the tank and can almost never hide. And a bunch of peppermints that I never see unless the lights are out (but I don’t see the aptasia anymore neither!) I would go with a pair of cleaners and then go from there if you have the room.

Thanks everyone. Do I have to have an anenome for the sexy shrimp? Someone on other forum said they are pointless without them.... anyone know?

sexy shrimp are pretty small, like food small. I wouldn't add them to a full blown reef tank, they are suitable for nanos IMHO.

Yea that sucks because they are a nice color addition and they are always hiding.
