I noticed my scarlet reef hermit crab lost one of his legs. So two questions: is that normal? and will he be allright?

He's been crawling on the rock like hes fine, just a little tougher withouth one leg.

Just a thougt, slight chance you could have an iodine deficiency in your tank? Could be nothing but an accidient. But sometimes crabs and shrimp can have problems moulting when iodine levels get too low.??

Crabs sometimes lose a leg when they moult. It will probably grow back.

I'd also like to add as a side note - if you are using a decent quality salt, and keeping up with your water changes there should not be any need to add iodine supplements for your crabs. ;)
