Was getting ready to head for work and was checking my tank over. Saw some odd movement in the overflow and it looked like some kind of shrimp. I got closer and watched and turned out to be a baby bangaii cardinal fish! Wondering how many others must have gotten eaten or might still be hiding in the tank. He seemed plump healthy so maybe I can fish him out and raise him up.
Just amazed that I got lucky and have a breeding pair of bangaiis since it seems to be a crapshoot identifying them.

sexing them isn't that hard. you just have to have both sexes on hand for comparison

Ed, I'll try and get some pics - there may be more in my sump or the other overflow which is hard to see into.
This was almost as exciting as seeing the 60 dollar swissguard basslet I assumed died last week in the rockwork. Second time in 8 months !
