Clam Question

I have a Deresa Clam that I have had for about three years. He sits on a sand bed. Once or twice a year he will lay over on his side, I pick him up and set him back upright and we are good for another few months. My question is, did he lay over because he wanted to, or has he just fallen and he can't get up?

Sometimes, something may bother him so he slams closed jetting out water. This will sometimes cause them to fall over.

Yup, they are like bears. THey hibernate some time. :)
