Weird Question.....

Would this work for my nano?????

Put in an overflow but don't drill anything.
Put the samll pump in the bottom of the overflow.
plum the returns to come out of the overflow.

Surface Skim into the overflow box, return pump to two heads.
Kind of an Internal Closed Loop.......can't see much of a difference from a closed loop besides the drilling/bulkheads.

Thoughts?????

just make sure that the input matches the output but that is a no brainer. I don't understand why the surface skimmer? It seems like all that it is going to do is redistribute the surface proteins that might buildup. But what do I know. lol

I did that and used a Prism skimmer instead of a pump. The only problem I had was the water level inside the overflow box would go down real fast and the skimmer would need adjusting. If you used a bakpak it would probably work better since the pump would be in the water, not siphoning into the skimmer
