It has been awhile since I have posted any updates to my tank. I have made some changes and went through a bout of the Red Bugs. Now everything gets quarantined and treated before it goes into the main system. Also thanks to: Aquatic Warehouse, Fin Addict, Alex's personal tank, fragfarmer, coralfantasy, and reefermadness the tank is finally starting to fill up with Corals.

Here is a full tank shot:

The right side looks a little dim because I was playing around with the exposure setting on the Camera.
Left side I'm using Geisman megachrome, middle phoenix 14k, and right side 14k aquaconnect. I like having the different zones in the tank, it makes it more versatile when I'm trying to achieve a particular color in the corals.

Here's a closer shot of the Left Side:

A section of the middle:

and the right side:

Let me know if you have any questions or other pics you would like to see.

What kind of ballast are you running the Geisemann megachrome on and is it the 12.5k marine bulb?

The left and right side are both PFO HQI ballasts, and yes it is the 12.5k. I really like the color of it now that it has been burned in. Not really blue, but nice crisp white light.

hhmmm, I was running one on a BlueWave HQI and didnt really care for it. All the colors were washed out and kinda blah even with heavy actinics. Seems the HQI M-80 ballasts burns just about any bulb a similar color, right now I have a CV 10k on it and I cant really tell the difference beween the Geisemann and the CV! Im gonna try the Geis on an E-ballast and see if it makes a difference, if not, its back the XM SE 10k for me!

In the pic of the full tank shot, the right side for some reason looks a lot bluer. Do they make the megachromes in SE? BTW, this is an amazing tank. COngratulations, and looking forward to learning more about it once you submit it for tank of the month.

Hes using an Aquaconnect 14k on the right side. Yes, you can get Megachromes in SE. Be forewarned though, theyre not cheap!

Initially I did not like the color of the geisman as well, it was a little yellow for me and did look washed out, but as it burned in, maybe 2-3 weeks later, I found that I really like the color. On the left side of the tank I have the back half also lit by 110 VHO actnic and the front is lit by 110 VHO 50/50. It's a nice blend for me.

The right side is bluer, just not as much as it shows in the pic. It's a different bulb, 14k aquaconnect. I have 2 250 watt 14k de's in the middle on e-ballasts.

The geisman I am using is a 400w SE. Got it from premiumaquatics when my other 14k AC bulb burned out, they replaced it for free. At the time they did not have anymore AC's so I got the Geisman.

Where can I find those megachromes? I like the color in Jeff's tank. I was looking for something more blue than a 10k, but not as blue as 14k. I think this might be perfect. As far as the price, how much do these usually run?

They are pretty expensive, but I like the color.

Here is where I got mine, I buy most of my dry goods from premiumaquatics.

400w SE Megachrome (http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=13K-400SE-G&Category_Code=mh-400w)
