I am helping a friend build a 100 gallon freshwater cicilid tank and was wondering what type of filtration to use. He is not a wealthy man so a good modertly priced filter recommendation please. Thanks for any help.

2 Penguin 400's will work well. I bet some of the folks here on MAAST will have one or two rat-holed in their garage.

I ran two Penguin 400s on my 55 and the water was always prestine. So they should work well on a 100. I would put 3, but the center brace will probably keep you from doing that.
