worms ?

I just got back from a 3 week vacation and I am noticed a lot of 1/2 in. or shorter white worms coming out of the sand right before the lights go off. These worms could have been there before I left, I just don't know. Any suggestions on what they are and if I should do anything? No pictures, my camera got sand blasted in Egypt. :(

Are you sure they are worms? They could be little brittle stars which are small, white and live in the sand but they have 5 legs...

Maybe spaghetti worms?

Not brittle stars, but will look into spaghetti worms and no to flat worms.
