Good luck with the ick man. i have 2 fish with ick right now, a hienochus (sp?) and a tang. i blame it on temp. swings because i havent been here all weekend to monitor it..i have no QT tank so, no clue what to do with them..its a nice looking puffer BTW

thanks he is cool and yeah i hope being stuck in a 29 with a uv set for a 200 gal tank should work to help cure him.

ok...here it goes Carl...as most of us know I got one of those awesome puffers a while back.
Well I picked him up from FA before he even was put in their system and I brought him home and put him in QT for 3 weeks...he was eating OK...not great but OK. No signs of ick or anything else so I added him into my display and POOOOOOFFFF!!! ick all over him.... :( It showed up immediatly after adding...I mean within 12hrs.!!!
I decided that I was going to treat him so I pulled him back out...did a freshwater dip and QT'd him. He stopped eating... :cry . The only treatment I used was HYPO. SLOWLY lowered salinity over the course of a week. IT helped the ick but still no eating. He finally satrted eating after about a week but again not much. The ick seemed to go away so I raised the salinity back up and all seemed well...NOOOOOOO...one day after raising the salinity the ICK was back with a vengence>>> :cry :cry
The puffer did not make it sorry to say.
While I was at last months meeting MIKEYBOY told me that the was another at FA...why didn't Felipe tell me???? well because he wanted to make sure he was eating and heathly. He apparently had been their and eating great for weeks!!!
Needless to say I went straight over and snatched him up. I added him to my fuge without QT this time and he showed signs of ick right a way BUT was eating like a pig. The ick seemed to go away so I added him to my display and more ick...but again he is eating well and to this day is doing great. The pufffer seems to be fighting it on his own.
I believe that their is ick present in MY SYSTEM its just my fish are fighting it naturally. I HAVE NO DATA TO BACK THIS...its just my theory...
GOOD LUCK!
wow this turned out to be long...sorry

I love it when I get accolades!!!!!
Glad that thing is working our good Don......
I almost bought the one that Carl got about 50 times, but he was a little sickly in the shop tank.
I sure hope he pulls out like your second one did.
