What should I do now to get my tank up and running again?
I have 110g, that just experienced a gill disease breakout and has killed all of my fish except for my Eel. All of my water testing tells me my water is good, but I know I still have this gill **** in there. How long do I wait and what should I do to get the tank safe for fish again?

I went to the extreme when mine went down, I changed all the water, got new live rock , ran everything for 2 weeks thru Black Diamond , lots of it and recycled the tank. Mine is only 24 gal so it wasn't as large as yours but I lost all my corals and fish. Good Luck, been there and didn't like it!!!

Gill disease? Never heard of it. Can you be more specific?
Most parasites that require a fish host will complete their life cycle and die off after about 6 weeks.

The eel is a fish, correct? I think you'll have to remove it, then leave the tank empty of fish for at least a month; I'd wait longer. Then, think about what fish you ultimately want to have, meaning your complete population, and come with a plan for stocking them in the least stressful manner. (territorial fish last) Then, you have to take great care to buy healthy fish; captive bred or reared fish are much more disease resistant. Then, get a few cleaner shrimp, although if you want the trigger that might be problematic!
If you have a fish only set up you might consider a UV sterilizer, especially if you can't keep cleaners.
Good luck!!

If you have enough fish you can keep a cleaner wrasse.

I would put the eel in a QT while I nuked the main tank.

How many is enough per wrasse to keep them alive without using tricks to get them to eat regular food?
