Pete.
U might want to clarify whether its a 75gpd unit or 100.
The descriptions shows one thing, the specs show another...............
Just details, but i am sure someone would be dissapointed if a 75 shows up and they thought they were getting a 100.
::pete::
Sat, 1st Oct 2005, 05:51 PM
Regarding the 75 gpd membrane verses the 100gpd.
We used to use the 100 gpd membranes but after testing the two against eachother we found that the 75gpd actually had a higher rejection rate at common municipal pressures. This and the addition of an adjusted flow restriction rate allows the 75 gpd membrane to produce around 100 gpd (in most cases more than the 100gpd membrane) and a superior rejection rate. Overall we found that the 75 gpd membrane was far superior to the 100 so we stuck with it.
Hope this helps

A flush kit is a great tool to prevent buildup on the surface of the membrane which in time will begin to clogg and slow the flow of the membrane. It is a very easy process. It works by temporarily bypassing the flow restrictor in the drain line and allowing a high speed flow of water to pass over the membrane surface. Adding a flush kit to older systems has proven to increase the flow lost over time and regain the gpd rating originaly produced. Using the flush kit is as easy as turning a valve for 10 minutes or so and then turning it off again when you are finished. The install on an older system is incredibly easy.
Hope this helps

Is it possible to get just a clear standard filter casing from them, kind of like the add on DI kit they have but without the DI since I have plenty of resin and refillable cartridge. I didn't see just the empty but they may have one if you have been in contact with them. If not no biggie I can find one somewhere.
Thanks,

5.00 off the cost of either the electrical or non electrical auto shut off. The electric one is intended to be used with the Aquatec pump so it would be best suited for someone who has a booster pump.
If the non electric shutt off is purchased it will be installed and if y'all didnt get in on the float valve order the 10.00 (as in the group order) still holds as well. So basicly for an additional 25.00 the system will be ready for automation. All that will be needed to do is install the float valve and the system will turn itself off when the valve is engaged.
This is plug and play!!!!

IM not one to comment on a system so I will be as politicaly correct as possible.
Number one it is nice to be able to see your filters to monitor the depletion.
Secondly we have a clear membrane housing as well.
Third this system has a Top mounted DI which does not work as well as a cannister DI
for various reasons. One being that any water that passes through the top of the filter will not contact the DI media where a normal cartridge DI must pass through the resin to move on to the next filter.
Our system has a plastic bracket and will never rust. Our system is made of 100% Quick connect fitting for maintenance. Our system uses a more accurate capilary style flow restrictor tuned correctly for optimum results under municipal water pressure conditions etc.....
Hope this helps

There should be one labeled OUT. For mine its the white tube.

Mine was missing a tube so I went to AW and Luis hooked me up. Here is an explanation of the set-up in laymens terms:
1) White canister goes directly to the center Black canister
2) center Black canister goes out to single nipple side of Blue canister (on top)
3) other end of Blue canister has two nipples:
a) top nipple goes to third Black canister
b) bottom nipple hose will release water when filter is in use.....this is not the clean water
4) the third Black canister should read output on the top, right about where the output nipple is. That is your good water.

What is the valve for?

I was told to use it every once in a while. What happens when you open it, is water rushes out rapidly and that cleans the membrane. I guess it keeps it form getting build up and not cleaning properly. But for the most part it should be closed or water should not be shooting out of it.

Thanks, Ive been so busy I haven't had the time to look at it till today. Did you get a filter wrench with yours? I didn't. Not knocking the supplier, very happy with the deal, but I thought we would get a set of paper instructions. Thanks again

:innocent , yeah I felt the same way especially since I knew ZERO about RO/DI units, but it was a great deal, so cheap-skates can't be choose-skates...or something like that. ;) luckily we have some outstanding LFSs that are always willing to lend a helping hand, now if there were always willing to give a helping SPS then that would be the "poo"!!!

Your TDS reading will go up and you have clear housings so you can see to. Remember to flush the membranes too.

hey pete i ordered 3 units the most out of the group buy and you put together the group buy. some how our orders got forgotten, maybe this was the first time for the company putting together a group buy. i finally got my units about a week ago after patiently waiting, although i was on the verge of cancelling my order all together. the units seem tobe good and very well priced, but i can see why others who have not worked with ro/di units would have trouble or questions especially with no instructions. i have mixed feelings on refering others to purely h20, but maybe this was a first time occasion.

Well Im glad to see y'all got yours and I was hoping you would chime in .. thanks Ray. I guess I will just have to call because PM's and e-mails seem to be useless now that the order is closed and a profit made.
Oh well live and learn.

I got an 36 ppm reading compared to 245 from tap water, but the water I get from HEB is 18.
Do I close the valve on top?

no problem, I was very please with the system, and surprise, that Pete did not get his RODI system, after all, he set up the whole thing and it seen unfair, if he got "forgatten"
any way my experiece was good with this dealer, "Bryan", I know he will fix what ever problem people have with their systems, like he told me, the toll free number gets rerouted to him after hours, so costumer service 24/7
Lets see how long it takes for Pete to get his RODI, the count down starts now 11-21-05@1453
