My last experince with a Tang was a horrible failure. :( It actually lead me to this site. ;) I just bought a 1 inch sailfin. I would like to here any advice about how to keep it alive.
It was alert and perky, appears to be healhty but a little thin across the back. I am dripp accilmating him right now.

keep plenty of nori in the tank usually soaked in Vit C and Garlic, a good UV Ster comes in handy, good water perams, and a good high vit flake and you should be good to go.
Mine used to eat krill and mysis when I put it in the tank, but they need vitamins too from the seaweed.
Lots of live rock with caves. mine really seamed to fatten up when i switch flake to the flake that had sponge in it that i feed my flame angel.
that small though.....watch her good!

Well if it eats you should be fine and as Pilot mentioned always have nori available.
Are there other fish in the tank?

You should be good iwth that, just keep the lights off for a little while longer after you put her in the tank.
