The October 2005 MAAST Meeting will be at CB Pets.
Sunday October 16, 2005 at 2pm.
CB Pets is one of our Club Sponsors.
This will be a "Support a Sponsor" Event.
http://www.cbpets.com/
Click on the link above for more information about CB Pets and for directions.
Let's Support one of our Local Fish Stores, which in my opinion, one of the finest.
Let's see what Richard and Mark have done recently, with their change over to carrying more saltwater livestock and drygoods.

All "INVERTS" 25% Discount!!

NOTE - In order to get your Discount, you will need to have the REQUIRED name tag.

You do not need to be a Charter Member to take advantage of this sale. The Sale starts at 2pm, and you must have a name tag in order to get the 25% discount. Charter Members will have FIRST choice!

Richard and Mark, will be placing a Special Order with their suppliers for this event. Items to be ordered; SPS, Sps Frags, Softies, LPS, Zoo Frags, maybe some Special Order Clams, Shrimp and Feather Dusters.

The Discounted 25% Off Sale is for "INVERTS ONLY", and will start at 2pm, Sunday October 16, 2005 ONLY! Pricing before the sale, will be their normal everyday pricing.

Charter Members may arrive early, SUNDAY ONLY, and "Purchase" inverts prior to 2pm, but you "MUST" have and present your membership card at the time of purchase, and must be done prior to 2pm.

All fish and dry goods, standard 10% MAAST discount, you "MUST" show your Memebrship card at the time of purchase.

Rules of this Event;

Name Tags Are Required!!
If you are a "Charter" member, you will have a "C" and then a number that you signed in on.
If you are a "Web" member, you will have a "W" and then a number that you signed in on.
These Letters and Numbers will also be good for the Door Prizes.
Once the Sale has started, Charter Members will have "First" choice, and numbers will be called in the order that you signed in. Then "Web" Members.

The way that Richard and Mark will operate this sale is, all items will have a price tag marked with their everyday price. If you find something that you want to purcahse, move the tag 90 degrees and initial the price tag. Once your number has been called and you have made your final decisions, then you will pay for your purcahse and the discount will be applied at the register.

Richard and Mark, have finally opened their doors to having a MAAST Meeting at their store. This is in part, due to their expansion of the Saltwater section of the store.

Let's all have a good experience with this event!
If you have any suggestions to help Mark, Richard and MAAST on how to make this Event better organized and fair to everyone, Please post your suggestions. We want everyone to leave "HAPPY" :D

Also, if I could have everyone who will be attending this event, PLEASE be "PATIENT"
CB Pets will be open for their "Normal Everyday Customers" and these customers will have Priority over MAAST members. PLEASE understand that!!! WE do not want them to loose any business due to a bunch of MAASTards over taking the store!!!
There are 3 parking spots directly in front of their store. These spaces will remain open for their everyday customers, so PLEASE DO NOT PARK directly in front of their store.

Thanks Again,

Roy

So how many people usually attend these types of store meetings?

Also if anyone has any ideas on what type of stuff (softies, lps, sps, frags, clams, etc) that you may be interested in be sure and let me know. I want to do my best to make sure there is plenty of selection for everyone.

Website, We have a website????

Oh yeah I remember now, I am suppose to update that thing from time to time. Well, it is a little out of date. I think only year out of date. It is on my list of To-Do's but I still have not updated it. Maybe, I can fix it up a little this weekend? Or not.

Basic info is still good. Well at least the phone number and the location is correct. Ignore the words and just look at the pretty pictures. :P

Will there be any presentation at this meeting?

Possibly Pete, myself, and Brian could do a quick "how too" on SPS and or answer some questions if wanted.

Just a thought.......then people would have a small "base" before Paletta in Nov.

Richard will be doing a presentation and as usual with the meeting at a store there are no raffles, but there will be door prizes. What are they you ask? ... come see :P

Richard will be doing a presentation

Huh? I didn't know that. I think I will be too busy to give a presentation. I like Todd's idea :)

Also, the businesses next to us are closed on sundays so there will be plenty of shaded room in front of the store to put chairs and tables so people can hang out. I have some lawn chairs I can bring but not nearly enough. So if anyone wants to volunteer to bring some chairs that would be great.

Hopefully we will get a break from this heat by then.

Well I'm a "wing it" kind of person so I'll put something together and we'll see how it goes.

I just talked to my supplier who is putting together the orders for this event. I mentioned some of the sps folks like you pretty much have everything already. He says he guarantees he'll be sending acros you haven't seen before so you better find that babysitter. ;)

Thanks Pete. I guess I should put that one under the column of 'Duh!" (or maybe just lazy.) Never thought to look at the calendar. Oh well, live and learn.

I don't know if it is too late to give a reply to this, but I'll be looking for zoanthids, corallimorphs, xenia, star polyps; frags of lps, perhaps.

Thanks to everyone who made it out yesterday and to those who made it out this past week leading up to the meeting. We had a great time and would love to host another meeting in the future.

Sorry for my "off the cuff" talk. Next time I'll try to prepare something a little more thorough. :)
